Springfield Dog Park

SACARC is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Mayor's Neighborhood Matching Grant in the amount of $5000.00!  We will be calling on all our friendly neighbors to begin working on the required number of volunteer hours. We will also be calling on those of you who signed Letters of Intent at the beginning of the summer. In return for the $5000.00, we had to show the Mayor that we were able collect another $5000.00 in donated funds from interested community members - as well as donated materials and man-hours and now is the time for us to start cashing in on all those promises.

We are meeting with the Parks Department to finalize plans for laying out the Springfield Dog Park which is tentatively scheduled to be in the Confederate Park Playground (the current location of the 2nd & 4th Sunday Dog Walks). We will have designated small breed and large breed areas. We are still in need of additional donations for Puppy Depot stations as well funds for any remaining items - such as park benchs, watering holes, and a pavilion.

Thank you to everyone who helped the Mayor see what a fantastic community we have and how well we work together to better our beautiful Springfield!
